Yes, CAPREIT fully supports and accommodates individuals with disabilities who rely on service dogs. Service dogs are welcome in all of our residential buildings in accordance with applicable laws, including human rights legislation and accessibility standards.
2. What qualifies as a service dog?
A service dog is a specially trained animal that assists an individual with a disability. Service dogs are distinct from pets or emotional support animals because they are trained to perform specific tasks related to the individual’s disability.
3. Are there restrictions on the size, breed, or type of service dog allowed?
No. There are no restrictions on the breed, size, or type of service dog permitted in CAPREIT buildings. Service dogs are exempt from pet-related policies, including breed and size restrictions, as long as they meet the criteria for a service animal.
