Niveen joined CAPREIT as an Administrative Coordinator in 2016, and in 2018, moved to the Marketing and Tenant Experience team, first as a Coordinator, and then was promoted to Project Specialist. In 2020 Niveen became an Operations Manager on the Toronto Central Team and moved to the Southwestern Ontario Team in 2022.
Q&A
“All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.” Henry Ellis
There were multiple people throughout my career at CAPREIT who helped expose me to Operations and ultimately inspired this move. They all played an integral role in me reaching my current position. I have been truly blessed to have strong mentors. But generally, my dad has been my inspiration due to his strong work ethic, hard work and dedication.
Choose leaders over bosses.
They understand the majority of it as they have been with me a number of times when I had to deal with emergencies on the weekend etc.
I make sure people are happy and safe where they live.
This is a hard one…. Sean McVay.
The commitment to developing their employees on multiple levels.
A pair of very expensive dress pants from Banana Republic. It was my first ever, I worked at Canada’s Wonderland and I hated the uniform so It was my style statement.
Favorite book: Pity the Nation, Lebanon at war. I am a history specialist by education and am very much a Middle Eastern History geek. Movie would be Top Gun – the original obviously! (insert a Need for Speed joke here.) Don’t have a favorite album. I like a lot of songs, and a lot of artists.
My husband (does that count?) my music for sure – I don’t think I can survive very long without my playlists and toilet paper.. just practical.
I love to travel any chance I can even if its small quick road trips. When local, I would usually go visit wineries across Ontario.
NOT SAUCE. Can’t taste anything if your mouth is on fire!!!
